Pipe and Tube Supports for use with Process, Food and Pharmaceutical Applications

Walter Stauffenberg GmbH & Co. KG is for the first time exhibiting at this year's drinktec , the world fair for beverage and liquid food technology, from September 14 to 19 in Munich. STAUFF is showing a full and comprehensive range pipe and tube supports of the so-called HI-CLEAN series made of stainless steel, which supplement the STAUFF PROCESS PRODUCTS division.
HI-CLEAN pipe and tube supports have been designed specifically for use in industrial clean and ultra-clean rooms that require highest standards in terms of hygiene and design. The HI-CLEAN series is primarily used in the field of process engineering and in the food or pharmaceutical industry.

The following particular features characterise the Hi-Clean series:

• innovative, patent approved design following the rules and principles
of the ASME-BPE, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers
• suitable for pipes, tubes and other lines with outer diameters between
6,4 mm and 168,4 mm
• both available as pipe supports with Silicon insert and pipe guides with PTFE insert
• rounded-off edges and corners to prevent dirt adhesion; no exposed threads or threads covered with acorn nuts
• all metal components manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel
• upon request with electrolytically high-gloss polished material surfaces
• depending on the application scenario with components for top or floor mounting in single and multiple versions for multi-level assembly
The STAUFF range of products for process technology applications is completed by Hi-Clean pipe clamps of the plastic series, which follow the design principles of the German standard DIN 3015, and lots of additional components.

Along with the HI-CLEAN pipe and tube supports, other key exhibits by STAUFF on stand no. 201 in hall B3 will include SUPERLOK twin ferrule compression fittings made of stainless steel for process technology, food-related and pharmaceutical applications, as well as our clamping systems for pipes, tubes, hoses, cables acc. to DIN 3015, 1592, 1593, 1596, 3567.

Background information

Walter Stauffenberg GmbH & Co. KG was founded in the 1950s in Werdohl, in the German province North Rhine-Westphalia, and was initially a contract turning shop. Today the company operates under the trade name STAUFF, developing, producing and marketing fluid technology components for use in plant construction and mechanical engineering. In the fields of tube, pipe and hose clamps, measuring technology and hydraulic filtration, this is one of the leading organisations in a growing branch of industry.

Meanwhile, almost 1000 employees all over the world (12/2009) generate an annual turnover of around EUR 125 million (12/2009). Distribution subsidiaries have recently been opened in Poland, Korea, Russia and Ireland. In addition to the group headquarters in Werdohl Ehrenfeld, the company has production and logistics facilities in Plettenberg-Ohle and Neuenrade-Küntrop.


Background Information on ASME-BPE

The BioProcess Equipment Committee is a technical committee of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, a professional institution of machine building engineers in the USA, consisting of plant operators, design engineers and plant engineers. In the absence of a consistent standard for design features and applications for the bioprocess industry, these industry experts convened in the early 1990s and for the first time in 1995, defined specific requirements for the deployed components.

Since this time, the requirements have been reviewed at regular intervals by the BioProcess Equipment Committee and adapted with changes in the market and now apply for all components that are in contact with the product or which come into contact with the raw materials or intermediate products during the process and also apply for all systems that could also present a hygiene risk during production.
