Just-in-time: System solutions straight to the production line

STAUFF ensures that trains function reliably in many countries of the world; after all, the company has been manufacturing tailored railway clamps for this branch of industry for over 50 years. Key Account Manager, Patrick Sperling: “These products are created in close coordination with the relevant design departments”.

The special factor in railway engineering is that there is still no uniform EU standard for flame-resistant materials. As a result, STAUFF have developed special railway clamps made of flame-proof materials that meet the individual railway standards in many different countries; for instance, PA-FF (Germany), PP6853 (Great Britain) or PA-V0 (France, Switzerland, Italy and the USA).

These special railway clamps are ideal for securing tubes, pipes, hoses and electrical cables. STAUFF also produce clamps for fixing several connection lines in place at the same time. In this way, a clamp measuring almost one metre in length was produced for securing up to 15 tubes or hoses.

At the InnoTrans 2010 in Berlin (Germany), STAUFF will not only be presenting such special solutions, but also its new role as a system provider. “Our British subsidiary STAUFF UK Ltd. play a leading role in this respect”, explains the Key Account Manager. “Tubes and pipes with pre-assembled screw connections plus made-to-measure hoses, likewise complete with pre-assembled clamps and other components, are delivered direct to the production lines at Bombardier as a kit. It is planned that an international project team will continue this success story with other European rail customers“.
