STAUFF welcomes new trainees

Training and promoting young talents as a foundation for the future: With an action day on 1 August, Walter Stauffenberg GmbH & Co. KG welcomed nine new trainees.

For nine young men and women, 1 August marked the start of a new phase in their lives: Max Maik Holland, Philip Fischer, Henning Schulz (all cutting machine operators), Sanel Mehmetukaj (machine and systems manager) and Kadir Elsümerz (metalworker) are beginning their training with Walter Stauffenberg GmbH & Co. KG. This year, for the very first time, STAUFF is also training a mechatronics specialist, Robin Schulte. Nadja Zoda and Miriam Ohrmann will also be facing new challenges as budding industrial administrators. "The growing significance of logistics has meant we have also decided to train a freight forwarding agent in-house for the first time, with Marvin Höft taking on the role", says HR Director Berthold Wommelsdorf, explaining another new development.

At the action day Heiner Schmitz, Managing Director of Walter Stauffenberg GmbH & Co. KG, welcomed a total of 21 trainees, who are situated in various areas of the company, including the IT department, which is centralised in the LUKAD Holding. In his welcome speech, Mr Schmitz emphasised the importance of practical training and promoting young talents as a foundation for the company’s future. The satisfaction of the trainees was recently confirmed by the company’s successful certification as "Outstanding Training Company 2013".

After the company presentation, the group of new and existing trainees also visited the head office in Werdohl-Ehrenfeld, the logistics centre at Neuenrade-Küntrop and the manufacturing site at Plettenberg-Ohle. After a communal lunch, various exercises were on the agenda, which gave the participants the chance to get to know one another better, recognise their shared potential and to grow as a team.

Throughout the action day the young trainees were accompanied by Niclas von Seidlitz, Global HR Generalist who is also responsible for staff development within the LUKAD group of companies.

Mr von Seidlitz is also the first point of contact for enquiries or information on the possibilities of vocational training at Walter Stauffenberg GmbH & Co. KG and its associated companies.
